1. Overview

Private PDF Cleaner is a browser extension published by SOMBRAHYPE SL. It helps users open PDFs and images, check pages for potentially private information, review detected content, manually mark additional areas, choose a cover color, and save a protected PDF copy.

2. Local document processing

PDFs and images are processed inside your browser using components bundled with Private PDF Cleaner. These components are used for PDF rendering, local text recognition, page analysis, review of possible private information, manual cover placement, page adjustment, and PDF generation.

The extension does not require an online document-analysis service for its core functionality. Files and intermediate page data may be held temporarily in browser memory while the extension is open so that the requested operation can be completed.

3. Information handled by the extension

3.1 PDFs and images selected by you

Files are selected directly from your device. The browser reads them locally so the extension can display and process the content. SOMBRAHYPE SL does not receive a copy of those documents through the normal document-processing workflow.

3.2 Potential private-information matches

The extension may locally identify text that could contain private information, including email addresses, telephone numbers, identifiers, account-related text, financial identifiers, document numbers, or other content that may deserve review.

3.3 Manual selections and cover settings

Manual boxes, selected matches, page adjustments and the chosen cover color are used locally to prepare the protected output. Current cover colors include black, white, red, green, blue, purple and yellow.

3.4 Protected PDF output

A protected PDF is generated only when you choose to save it. The resulting file is delivered through your browser to a location you control. SOMBRAHYPE SL does not receive or retain the protected output through this workflow.

4. Information we do not collect from document processing

Private PDF Cleaner does not require SOMBRAHYPE SL to collect or store:

• the contents of PDFs or images opened in the extension;
• private information detected inside those documents;
• manual cover boxes, selected matches or cover-color choices;
• protected PDF copies generated by the user;
• a user account or profile for document processing.

The extension does not include developer-operated advertising or analytics trackers for its document-processing workflow.

5. How information is used

Information handled locally is used to provide the feature you requested: displaying the file, checking it for potentially private information, applying manual or selected covers, adjusting page orientation or angle when requested, and creating the protected PDF.

SOMBRAHYPE SL does not use the contents of locally processed documents for advertising, behavioural profiling, sale of personal data, or unrelated commercial purposes.

6. Cookies, analytics and tracking

6.1 Browser extension

Private PDF Cleaner does not need tracking cookies, developer-operated analytics or advertising trackers to perform its core document-processing functions.

6.2 Privacy-policy website

The website that hosts this Privacy Policy may generate standard web-server or hosting logs for delivery, availability and security. Depending on the hosting environment, these logs may contain technical request data such as IP address, user-agent information, request time and requested page.

Those website logs are separate from the extension's local document-processing workflow and do not contain the contents of PDFs or images processed by Private PDF Cleaner.

7. Third-party services

7.1 Buy me a coffee

Private PDF Cleaner includes an optional Buy me a coffee link. It is not required for document processing and the external website opens only when the user deliberately selects the link. Once opened, the third-party provider's own privacy policy, cookies and terms apply.

7.2 Browser stores and browser providers

Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons and browser providers may independently process information associated with installation, updates, store usage, security, payments made through their own systems, or your browser account. Those platform practices are governed by the relevant provider's own privacy terms.

7.3 Bundled processing components

PDF-processing libraries, local text-recognition components and language data required for core document processing are bundled with the extension. They are not loaded as remote code from a document-analysis service.

8. Data retention

SOMBRAHYPE SL does not keep a server-side copy of PDFs, images, locally detected document content, manual cover selections or protected output files because those items are not uploaded to SOMBRAHYPE SL through the normal document-processing workflow.

Temporary processing information may remain in browser memory during the current session and is released as the extension page is closed, refreshed, replaced by later processing, or otherwise managed by the browser and operating system.

9. Security

Local document processing reduces the need to transmit document contents over the internet for core functionality. Private PDF Cleaner also follows a narrow extension-permission model and bundles the components required for processing.

No software can guarantee absolute security. Users should keep their browser updated, preserve original files where appropriate, and review the protected output before sharing or publishing it.

Automatic detection is an assistance feature and may miss information or identify content incorrectly. The user remains responsible for reviewing the final document.

10. Legal basis for processing

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or other applicable data-protection law applies to personal data that SOMBRAHYPE SL actually processes outside the local document workflow, the legal basis depends on the relevant activity.

• Legitimate interests: technical or security information may be processed where reasonably necessary to operate, protect and maintain the public website or service.
• Consent: where an optional future feature legally requires consent, consent will be requested before that processing takes place.
• Legal obligations: information may be processed when required to comply with applicable law.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent where consent is the applicable legal basis.

Because Private PDF Cleaner does not transmit document contents to SOMBRAHYPE SL through its normal local-processing workflow, SOMBRAHYPE SL normally has no server-side copy of those documents or detected contents to access or erase.

12. International data transfers

The extension's core document processing is local, so document contents are not transferred internationally to SOMBRAHYPE SL for detection or protected-PDF export.

Independent browser stores, browser providers, hosting providers or external support websites may process their own technical information in other countries under their own privacy frameworks and safeguards.

13. Children's privacy

Private PDF Cleaner is a general-purpose document utility and is not directed specifically at children. Its core document-processing functions do not require creation of an account and are not designed to knowingly collect document contents from children.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Private PDF Cleaner changes, when SOMBRAHYPE SL's data practices change, or when legal or regulatory requirements change.

The “Last updated” date at the top of the page will be revised when a new policy is published. If a future version changes how documents or personal data are handled, the relevant browser-store disclosures will be updated as well.
